February saw some winter weather, the under side of the Idylwyld bridge and treat catching in Eva’s project. That and she is the only tobogganing dog that I have ever met. Eva and 22 Birds Under Idylwyld Week 6 “Eva and 22 birds under idylwyld” combined Eva’s weekly photo with another mini-project that I amContinue reading “Eva’s 2016 project – February”

Eva’s 2016 project – January
2016 is upon us and it is Eva’s turn to do the weekly photos. She is likely looking forward to the project – as the camera and it’s associated dog treats really get her excited. For the first month of the project – overhead views, a historic bridge, intense eye contact, vintage star wars actionContinue reading “Eva’s 2016 project – January”
26 bridges “rail bridge birds”
The second photo outing of my bridges project yielded four photos that I was quite happy with. I combined this outing with a compositional goal of using triangles in the photos. The bridge that I focused on was the old CPR rail bridge. There were more birds than people out, so they became a secondaryContinue reading “26 bridges “rail bridge birds””
26 bridges – load limit
In 2016 I have decided to do a mini-project on Saskatoon’s bridges. I’m aiming for 26 unique shots of the 7 main bridges in town. One final photo per outing. Eva with the Traffic Bridge The first photo was taken one day before there was demolition on the old traffic bridge. Originally a 5 spanContinue reading “26 bridges – load limit”
Bruno’s 2016 – January & February
The start of the new year means the start of a new dog photo project for me. This year Bruno will be doing a more infrequent monthly project, with up to 3 photos per month. The first January photo “mr. serious” shows Bruno’s serious side. Something that was rare in his 2015 project photos. AlsoContinue reading “Bruno’s 2016 – January & February”
26 bridges – further demolition of the old traffic bridge
And then there was one. Another segment of the traffic bridge in Saskatoon was brought down by explosives today. It was built in 1907 and originally had 5 spans of iron truss bridge. Today only one span remains in place. I will miss this piece of history and hope that the city replaces it withContinue reading “26 bridges – further demolition of the old traffic bridge”
the playmobil photographer
In 2013 I borrowed a Playmobil character from one of my children’s sets for part of a photo project with Kael. This little test shot in 2013 was a random stroke of good luck as I really like how it all came together, with the details of the photographer and the light on the kitchenContinue reading “the playmobil photographer”
Bruno’s project – December
This is the final month of Bruno’s project. This month saw a little bad behaviour, some time travelling, a Christmas Golden Wreathtriever, and a retrospective look at the past year. Evidence Week 49 “evidence”: This was never the plan for weekly photo, but when Bruno climbed on the table while our baby sitter was lookingContinue reading “Bruno’s project – December”
cottage life photo contest entries
The cottage is a big part of our life, and I love the time that we spend there every year. Since before we bought a cabin I’ve been subscribing to Cottage Life magazine. They run a nice photo contest every year, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have some of my photos published inContinue reading “cottage life photo contest entries”
dock jumping and a swim – video on youtube
And now I have a youtube channel. Limited content at this time, but a bit of a fun way to share some videos that happen on the way to making the photos. This one is of Bruno wearing the GoPro fetch harness at the cabin. A bit of a fun, jump, swim and shake. It’sContinue reading “dock jumping and a swim – video on youtube”
Eva’s project – March 2014
It’s hard to believe that we’re more than 1/4 of the way through 2014. Eva’s project continues, and she is turning into quite the little model. Looking forward to some more spring-like weather to get fun outdoor pictures in April. The ‘week’ number links back to the original post on Flickr. What Could Be BetterContinue reading “Eva’s project – March 2014”
