I’ll admit that this is a delayed post. Saskatoon’s new traffic bridge is set to officially open tomorrow (October 2, 2018). These photos have been on my hard drive for far too long as they are from a trip to the river to document building the bridge during a -40 celcius morning on February 7, 2017.
Construction in the Ice Fog
I was drawn to the river bank on this cold morning partly to check in on construction, but also partly to see the ice fog on the river.
The ice fog did not disappoint, providing a nice backdrop to the bridge construction.
The Rise of The Traffic Bridge
But in the end, it was the construction site and the growing traffic bridge that stole the show.
This last shot turned out to be my favourite because of the reflections sneaking through the ice fog. It is my selected final shot from this session for the 26 bridges project. Plus I have already made it up as a print, which looks pretty darn awesome printed on lustre paper.
