My bridges project continues, and this time it was a little trip to the Circle Drive North Bridge. A concrete girder bridge at the north end of the city. It was built with two lanes and a walkway on each span, but was later modified to incorporate the pedestrian walkways into traffic lanes and suspend a new pathway between the spans and below the traffic. I think it was a great solution as being below the traffic is so much better than being next to it.
I did these photos during an hour while my daughter was at an activity. The sunlight was strong, with not a cloud in the sky, so I played with that. Turns out than when I put my mind to it, my 25-70 lens can throw some fun lens flare.
Photos of the Bridge
This first photo is all about the light, as the reflected light from the liver lit up the under surface of the suspended walkway.

And this one shows a couple of ducks just hanging out by the bridge.

I have been wanting to show how important the bridges are to the life of the city, including pedestrian and cyclist traffic on them. Here I composed along the railing, playing with sun flare in the frame. And then I waited for a cyclist to bring life to the frame. I like this photo a lot, but will likely come back with my kids to do this frame again with them on their bikes adding life to the bridge.

This shot here is my final selection for the project from this session. I loved the lens flare, and wanted to keep a hint of the green from the trees so used a sienna filter instead of doing a straight black and white processing. I have since reprocessed this shot into a print on display and available for purchase.
