The second month of Agnes’s project and she is already getting more comfortable in front of the camera. This week saw waiting for the kids, her dog bling, prancing in the park and a spontaneous guitar concert with Daniel.
Waiting for the Kids
This is the typical scene in our house every day starting about 5 minutes before the end of the school day. I’m not sure how they know that the kids are coming, but Eva leads the watching brigade at the window in the kitchen overlooking the path that the kids walk home on.
I also did an iPhone of the waiting crew while I was waiting to get a photo of them waiting. Lots of waiting happened.. It is posted on Instagram:
Agnes: Do you see them yet?
Eva: Not yet.
Bruno: Who are we looking for?
Eva and Agnes: The kids!
Bruno: Oh good. I do miss them.
Agnes: Do you see them yet?
Eva: Not yet.
Bruno: I see some kids.
Agnes: Our kids?
Bruno: Nope. Just some random ones.
Eva: Hey dude, we don’t care about random kids. We’re waiting for our kids.
Bruno: Hey, don’t go full crazy Brittany on me. I just wanted to contribute to the conversation.
Eva: Dude, lets keep the conversation relevant. You know I get a little excited about Julia and Daniel coming home.
Agnes: Ooooh, I think I see them. This is exciting!
Eva: I see them too! Let’s get ready to bounce.
Bruno: I don’t bounce. I’m just going to ‘accidentally’ knock them over and lick their faces. Then I’m going to show them this green springy toy. And then the red bone toy.
Agnes: Well I’m just going to run in circles and try not to pee on the floor.
Bruno, Eva and Agnes: Hurry up kids!
Bling
little close up of Agnes’s tag and details of her neck fur. I think this tag is only about 9 months old, but it sure is well worn on her.
Dave: Agnes, what’s up with your bling?
Agnes: Oooh, I really like it. Reminds me that I have such a nice family.
Dave: The fact that you have bling reminds you that you have a good family?
Agnes: Not just having it. That theory is old school like that lady and the tramp movie.
Dave: Well, I was more asking you about what happened to the general condition if it?
Agnes: Ooooh, the general condition. That’s what I was talking about. All of those scratches, scuffs and nicks in it are what makes it special.
Dave: I don’t get it. Why is the damage the special part of it?
Agnes: It’s proof of a good life.
Dave: Now you’ve lost me.
Agnes: Yup. All signs of a good life. Wearing it 24 hours a day, it gets a bit nicked up from going for walks, eating good food at metal bowls and wrestling with Eva’s and Bruno. Good times. Good life.
Prancing
This is an idealized version of what a walk for our three pups is like. One closer to reality is in which Agnes is impersonating an ostrich is also below.
Agnes is actually an epically poor walker on the lead. She tends to oscillate between moments of peacefulness and spasms of panic. Like someone playing the cello with a stick of dynamite. My wife is a special woman as she takes all three for a walk most mornings before work.
No dogversation this week as Aggie was too busy walking/prancing/hopping/panicking to talk.
And here is the ostrich …
Guitar Concert
My son Daniel got his long awaited guitar this weekend. The dogs were captivated.
Daniel: Hey puppies! Want to come to a guitar concert?
Agnes: Yes I do.
Eva: Yup. Are there snacks at this concert?
Bruno: Yes. Snacks and a show sound great.
Daniel: Alright. Thanks for coming to the concert. And unfortunately there are no snacks.
Agnes: That’s Okay. I like the guitar.
Daniel: Good. Now my first song is …
Agnes: Can I eat that snack?
Bruno: There are snacks?
Daniel: Agnes, I said there are no snacks here.
Agnes: Then what’s that thing in your hand.
Bruno: Oh yes. It looks yummy.
Eva: Yup. That thing looks wonderful.
Daniel: I told you there are no snacks, just music. And that thing is a guitar pick. Not a snack.
Agnes: Ok. I like music.
Bruno: Can I eat the guitar pick?
Eva: Me too! It looks like a yummy guitar pick.
Agnes: Oh yes, guitar picks are my favorite.
